The cloud layers in the ICON model are categorized as follows:
L: Low level clouds and fog up to 3 km altitude
M: Mid level clouds from 3 to 8 km altitude
H: High level clouds from 8 km altitude
We are currently working on a complete tutorial for XC Therm and will include this information as well.
